The tv shows nothing but doom and gloom, house prices down, mortgages down 60%, fuel prices up 20% in 12 months, so it is surprising to find that the sale of personalised number plates has not been greatly affected. Purely the ultimate luxury, non essential purchase one would expect it to hit very hard, but as with fuel prices the British love their cars much the same as the Americans and will pay whatever it takes to continue that love affair. It will be interesting to see if the sales of new cars are similarly affected or whether the go into free fall decline.
