Doumbek, the wonder drum
Doumbek is a hand drum, which has many names according to the locations such as Darbakeh, Darbuka, Qypi, Toumberleki, and Darbuk etc. However there are only two main types of this type of hand drums .One is The Egyptian style and the other one is the Turkish style. One of my friends bought The Egyptian type of hand drum when he visited Italy. His son had a fascination on the doumbek. He started to learn the instrument with his basic knowledge in drums. Now he is an expert in playing this instrument. It is really amazing to hear the different types of sounds coming out of this wonderful hand drum Now many of his friends have become his fans and his wonder hand drum Doumbek.
